SCC didn’t just see me as another case; they saw me as a person, someone worthy of a second chance. They never gave up on me, even when I
struggled to believe in myself their support was more than just resources and services; it was encouragement, understanding, and a constant
reminder that I wasn’t alone.
I especially want to thank my Care Manager, Dante McCready. Dante was more than just a caseworker, he was a mentor, a motivator, and
sometimes even a voice of reason when I needed it most. He was patient when I was frustrated, persistent when I wanted to give up, and always
reminded me that my past didn’t have to define my future.
Now, as I step into this new chapter — sober, employed, and finally securing my own place — I carry immense gratitude for SCC and Dante.
Because of them, I am not just surviving, I am thriving. I hope my story can show others that with the right support and determination,
anything is possible. Thank you, SCC, for believing in me when I needed it the most. – Eli McCoy

Celebrating
5 Years of PATH
In year 2024, SCC celebrated 5 years of PATH, our first-ever Permanent
Supportive Housing development, providing stable, affordable homes to
individuals and families rebuilding their lives after incarceration. PATH
offers a no-time limited, affordable (residents pay no more than 30% of
their income for rent), independent option for residents to hold leases
with normal rights and responsibilities. Our 50 supportive housing units
supported over 58 total residents, including children. For 5 years, PATH has
been more than housing – it has been a foundation for stability, success,
and second chances!
Expanded
Opportunities
Through
Transitional
Housing
This year, SCC expanded its transitional housing program to provide new
homes for women and older adults, offering a supportive environment
tailored to their unique needs. In addition, SCC broadened access to
Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) vouchers and enhanced housing
navigation services, ensuring more individuals have the resources and
guidance needed to secure stable, long-term housing. These efforts
reflect SCC’s ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for vulnerable
populations to rebuild their lives and achieve lasting stability.

Groundbreaking:
Residences
on Acoma
With innovation at the forefront, SCC broke ground on its latest property,
Residences on Acoma. Our 128 income-restricted homes, includes 60
supportive housing units for low-income households and 68 units dedicated
to individuals transitioning out of the justice system or experiencing
homelessness. This passion project aims to address the city’s affordable
housing crisis while offering a comprehensive support network that
includes mental healthcare, substance use treatment, case management,
and peer mentoring. By creating a safe, stable living environment, SCC is
empowering formerly incarcerated individuals to rebuild their lives and
break the cycle of recidivism. The development is backed by substantial
funding and partnerships, including contributions from Enterprise
Community Partners and the Denver Homelessness Resolution Fund.
Residences on Acoma stands as a symbol of hope, opportunity, and the
transformative power of stable housing.
